Need to know the times of the next bus from any bus stop in the County?

As well as contacting traveline or Herefordshire Council by phone or the internet, you can now receive bus times via text message (SMS) direct to your mobile phone.

Step 1

There are over 1,600 bus stops in Herefordshire - each has a unique 8 letter code.

To find out you bus stop's code:
Using the homepage "Find a Place" option put your address or postcode into the "Place" box and click "go".

Check the names of the stops which appear in your area (you may need to zoom in on the stops - the stop names and codes appear only when zoomed in to the largest scale).

Note down the codes for the stops which you use regularly. They look like "heradatp".
  • Call traveline on 0871 200 22 33
  • Look at the bus stop - new bus stop signs with stop codes are gradually being introduced across the county.
  • New timetable information panels showing stop codes are being rolled out to bus stops with timetable displays.
Step 2

Send the bus stop code as a text message to the traveline text number 84268.

If you just want the times of one particular bus service from a stop, simply type in the stop code followed by a space and then the service number (eg: heradatp 416).

Remember the service is specific to an individual stop for travel in that one direction ... the code for the stop in the other direction will be different!

Traveline will charge 25p per message sent to you in addition to your service provider's normal charge.

Step 3

You will then receive a reply via a text message within 30 seconds, showing:
  • The times of up to the next four buses due at that particular stop
  • The service number of each bus
  • The destination of each bus
