  Ticket Information

This site cannot provide individual place-to-place fares information. This should be obtained directly from the bus operator.

However, the following types of ticket are generally available in Herefordshire (check with the bus operator which ticket types are available for a specific route):

Single tickets

Valid for one journey from A to B. Cost varies according to distance travelled. Buy from the bus driver.

Day Return tickets

Valid for one journey in each direction between A and B - and usually offering a discount over the cost of two single tickets. Both journeys must be completed on the day of purchase. May not be available before 0900hrs (Mondays to Fridays) on some services. Only valid on the buses of the issuing company unless stated otherwise in this timetable. Buy from the bus driver.

Day Travel Tickets

Valid for one day's unlimited travel on the services of a given bus company or companies. Buy from the bus driver. See below for more details.

Multi-Journey Tickets

Valid for a set number of journeys between any two points on a given bus service at a discount over single fares. Not available on all services. Buy from the bus driver.

Season Tickets

Valid for an unlimited number of journeys between any two points on a given bus service. Offers a discount over single or return fares. Buy from bus company offices or agents.

Travel Cards

Valid for an unlimited number of journeys on all services with a given area for a fixed time period. Buy from bus company offices or agents. A photograph is usually required.

Children

Children under 5 travel free if accompanied by a fare-paying adult. Between the ages of 5 and 15 children travel at a discounted fare, generally between 50% and 75% of the adult rate. The discount varies according to operator and time of day.

Concessions

Senior citizens, and many disabled people, can obtain discounted travel with a bus pass issued by Herefordshire Council. Full details are shown in the Concessions section.

  Day Travel Tickets

Herefordshire Council has been notified of the following day travel tickets offered by bus companies operating services in Herefordshire. All tickets can be bought from bus drivers at time of travel.

FIRST DAY

Valid on all bus services operated by "First"; in Herefordshire, Worcestershire and surrounding counties. Can be bought on any "First"; bus and used all day, any day.

Fares: Adult £5.00, Child £3.50, Family (Up to 5 people of whom no more than 2 may be adults) £10.00.

FIRST DAY HEREFORD

Valid on all "First"; bus services operating within the City Of Hereford and on service 71 to Credenhill. Can also be used on Sargeants Bros." services 461 and 462, between Credenhill and Hereford after 20.00 hrs.

Fares: £2.50 Adult £1.70 Child.

HEREFORD EVENING TICKET

Valid on "First"; Hereford City services 71 74 74A 74B 79A 81, and on service 420 between Hereford and Lugg Bridge after 18.30hrs and on Sargeants Bros service 461 and 462, between Credenhill and Hereford after 20.00hrs.

Fares: £1.50 Adult £0.75 Child.

EXPLORER

Valid on all "Stagecoach"; operated services throughout Great Britain (outside Greater London) for one day.

Fares: Adults £5.00, Child or Senior Citizen £3.50, Family £10. (Prices may vary on buses operated by Stagecoach in South Wales).

NETWORK RIDER

Valid for one day"s unlimited travel throughout South-East Wales on the services of most major operators and including Stagecoach services X3, X4 and 39 to and from Hereford. Can be used, but not bought, on other Stagecoach Services to and from Hereford and Ross-on-Wye.

Fares: Adult £5.70 , Child £3.50 Family £11.40. (Family tickets can be used by up to 5 people, of whom two may be adults).

SUNDAY ROVER

Valid on most bus services in Herefordshire and Worcestershire including cross-boundary sections of services starting in the two counties. Also valid on "Beacons Bus" services from Brecon. Available all day on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays only.

Fares: Adult £4.60, Senior Citizen £3.60, Child £3.10, Family (Up to 5 people, no more than 2 of which may be adults) £9.20.

HEREFORD SUNDAY TICKET

Valid on Hereford City Services 71 74 74A 74B and 79A operated by Bromyard Omnibus, DRM Coaches and Stagecoach on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays.

Fares: Adult £1.50 Child £0.75
